Linn-Mar FBLA students attend State Fall Leadership Conference18 Oct 2017
At the beginning of October, 14 high school students attended the FBLA State Fall Leadership conference. This two-day event was held in Des Moines. The students participated in several workshops, and went on a business tour where they got to visit and talk to the owner of Zombie Burger. The conference was kicked off by key note speaker, Colonel Timothy Glenn, with a speech about ethics in leadership. Following the speaker, students had the opportunity to attend several workshops. Some of the workshops that students could attend included, leadership building, team building, college prep, and membership recruitment. To wrap up the first night, there was a networking dinner and dance. The following morning, the group attended a leadership challenge course at Camp Dodge. Then they visited Zombie Burger, where they got to meet and speak with the owner. After the tour, these Linn-Mar FBLA members returned back home. Throughout the conference students learned many valuable skills varying from leadership to networking.

Linn-Mar FBLA Places 5th at State Conference19 Apr 2017
Linn-Mar High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members participated in the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Coralville, IA. The conference consisted of various activities including a charity dance and walk for the March of Dimes, a hypnotist, photo booth and campaign rally. Member Mclay Lampe ran for the office of Treasurer.

For three days, members took tests and presented various projects to judges. Several students from Linn-Mar placed in the categories they competed in with L-M FBLA placing 5th overall. The top four winners from each event will have the opportunity to compete at FBLA nationals in Anaheim, Calif. this June!

At the beginning of October, 20 high school students attended the FBLA State Fall Leadership conference. This two day event was held in Des Moines. The students participated in several workshops, and went on a business tour. The conference was kicked off by key note speaker, Kent Stock. Following the speaker, students had the opportunity to attend several workshops. Some of the workshops that students could attend included, leadership building, team building, college prep, and membership recruitment. To wrap up the first night, there was a networking dinner and dance. The following morning, the group took a tour of Accumold, a micro molding company. After the tour, they returned back home. Throughout the conference students learned many valuable skills varying from leadership to networking.
